A Passion for Sculpture!
While a part-time artist, beginning as early as the '70s, I completed over sixty stone sculptures, six bronze, and several, Dye Sublimation Into Aluminum, graphic art series. Finally, I am pleased to be able to concentrate solely on and expand my art portfolio.
Although I still sell via accredited art galleries I focus on direct sales to keep my prices reasonable. All but a couple of my stone pieces are sold and I will only be creating new works next spring when I acquire new raw serpentine stone from Newfoundland.
My new condo in Lavaltrie, with its large windows looking out over the Saint Lawrence River, is a great studio for my clay-to-bronze work. I have started work on a series of wild-life heads, bison/lynx/wolf, inspired by some of my recent graphic work.
I love working with color and my graphic art work affords me the opportunity to do that.
After experimenting with giclee printing on archival paper and canvas I have taken a more modern and more robust approach using Dye Sublimation Into Aluminum as my medium.
I am currently developing a new body of wearable sculpture based on my agetized beach stone collection. I have done a lot of preparatory cutting and preliminary polishing work and I am now positioned to deliver finished product.
The stone is astonishingly beautiful, and I am eager to see what I come up with
